Genesis 2 is back up

We’ve worked on bases and souls, and have got the map down to 1.9gb save file… and that is stable again.

Today’s work has included removing a huge base which took over 45Mb off the file size all by itself… but it’s not a one-base problem.

This map is the most over-resourced map, is the biggest filesize and is the fastest growing map on the cluster.

Being a map with so much resource.. it’s become the “one stop shop” map… but if we don’t stop the rapid unfettered growth – we’ll be crashing again in no time.

So… I’m discouraging Genesis 2 from being the main base for big-build breeding. For breeding – folks will have to disperse around the cluster from now on.

Starting immediately on Genesis 2 only:

  • No mutation pulses with the mutator
  • Propagator mutation and gender cost 1000/female and max 1 pulse
  • Baby growth speed reduced from 7x to 1x

Next weekend (on Genesis 2 only):

  • Propagators will be disabled
  • Mating cooldown will be massively increased
  • Baby growth will be practically halted

Sorry folks… in order to keep Genesis 2 as a viable map for living, gathering, missions and looting on… we’re going to have to stop such hefty use for mass souls and big breeding bases.

Breeders – please make sure to clear your breeds out of propagators before weekend, and to make sure that no dino’s are on cooldown by Friday night. It’s time to start making more use of the other maps for breeding folks.
When moving your breeding to other maps.. .remember to use Ark-Data and not personal inventory and to not transfer too many at once.

Everyone: please check your soul counts. One base had over 6000… it’s easy to lose track. Remember to keep them below 2000 per map.

Genesis 2 is safe to join again.
