Ascended server migrated to TFS hardware

We have migrated ARK: Survival Ascended – The Friendly Server – Island PvE to our own hardware.

There will still be crashes that are caused by the game itself – it’s new, and the patch-notes alone tell you how many crash bugs are still in it! But… we now have direct back-end control, and the kit itself is rock solid and performs superb.

There is a Harvesting and Taming Boost running from now until 08:00 on Sunday 12th November. 5x Harvesting. 5x Taming.

Building rules update

These are the building rules for Ark: Survival Ascended. Things may get revised once we have a cluster.

  • Maximum base size: 200 x 100 metres. No more than half of that space to be covered with foundations / buildings.
  • Permanent bases must be at least 250metres apart (from edge of boundaries)
  • Temporary starter shacks up to 4×6 foundations should be no closer than 100metres from any other base.
  • Existing permanent bases that are closer than this, will not be asked to move because of proximity – but must not expand any closer to each other.
  • If your base is currently bigger than this… please bring it down to the above scale over the next week (before next Sunday)

A backup has been taken from this moment – and will be the reference for any disputes about existing base sizes/proximity.

You can use the tracking feature on a tamed dino to measure distance… or map waypoints.

Other plans (subject to testing)

We’re looking to open a second Island map – clustered/transferrable with the current one. That map will be long-term temporary – it will remain open until there is enough space in the cluster to accommodate the playerbase. It will close once more maps are open, with a 3 month closure notice. It will be ideal for anyone who expects to relocate to another map once it is open.

On the second map – Herbivore Island will be reserved as an admin water hotel. Each pen will be big enough to store a Tuso or Mosa and a couple of sharks. Not for breeding / mass storage – but enough for you to explore the water and do the water caves etc. Those who want more water features will need a base by the coast and/or wait for more maps to open. Those with a water pen will also be given a spawn-bed and feeding trough on Herbivore Island.

You will only be allowed to have a base on one of the maps – not both.

The player base has been a lot bigger than anticipated – and we’re trying to adjust to accommodate you all the best we can, and as fairly as possible.
