A journeyman (or above) saddle is required for your mount. If you do not have a mount to bring with you, there are a number of creatures loaned by the community that you may borrow for the event.

Only the first twenty (20) eligible dinos will be able to participate in the event. If you are too late, you may still spectate from the viewing area and you will still be able to unlock the tekgrams given to players by defeating the bosses.
